    Back!

Hello! Sorry I've been gone a long time! I got too mad at this girl (the cancer girl, I call her) but I figured it's too stressful for me to try not to be angry because that's not how I work. But it's so ridiculously pointless to talk to people who don't try to fix the problem because they don't understand that a lot of things come down to science, but whatever. Now I'm back. So yay!

I went on a very nice walk/adventure today! First, we went to the bus stop and I found this pretty orange flower (I'll post it on WebCT later on) and I really wanted to put it in my hair but I do not believe in killing flowers. There are all pretty and smell nice but it's mean. They're not "just flowers". And also a humongous waste. Like people getting married with like, 10,000 roses. Looks very nice but way to kill 10,000 roses. Good job. Then we went to Market St. (in Ballard) and got a menu for a place called Zaw. They say they have raw pizza, I thought they meant like, RAW. Like, really raw. Like, raw foodists. But they just sell take home pizza. And it's not vegan. So uhhhh...but it's all organic and local and they said they could make it vegan. So that either mean no cheese or fake cheese.

Then we walked a LONG way to Goodwill. And they were closing in like, 20 minutes. But being an excellent shopper and having lots of cash (:D), I got 5 things. Black shorts (that were too big, dang. I think I'll sew them in), 2 red dresses, a blue/green striped sweater (one that a blond person living in Hollywood would wear) and a...oh yea, a like...Forever 21/Wet Seal type tank top dress? With tulips. One of those things that teenagers feel like they have to buy to be cool. And I paid for them and my cashier was like, supremely cool. She had a green lacey like, corset dress. But not sexy or provocative, just really cool. She was very nice and thought working at Goodwill is fabulous! I can totally imagine. And then Rob wanted me to buy a $1 green shirt for him for his frisbee games, and our cashier (no way! Small world indeed) was a dude from my school. That guy that sits in the coffee place with his trenchcoat thing and top hat! Yea. I sound like a freaky stalker but I promise you, I'm not. This little Asian old guy in Fremont gave me a newspaper flapping crane a while ago, and the next day I went to school and passed it on to Top Hat guy. So anyways, that was cool. Now I can't consider working at Goodwill because then it'll just look like I'm trying to stalk him, shucks! I really love Goodwill!

Then we walked to Trader Joe's but they closed because it's a stupid holiday. So I called PCC and they said they're open to midnight! I was like "OMG!" and so that's where we went. And bought 2 delicious cookies! Rob bought me a chocolate chip one, and I got another one for myself; gingersnap! :D Wahahahahahaha. I win. But I did forget make up so I might have to have to not wear eyeliner to school for the next week, how tragic.

I really want to say something science related but my brain doesn't want to right now. Maybe next time! And by the way, the CD I'm listening to is absolutely amazing!!! Very happy but very sad at the same time.

    Yesterday's cancer...

Is the stupidest conversation I've had the entire week. Maybe the entire month.

People are so funny. Humans have rather interesting emotions that many creatures don't have. Like the ability to hurt mentally and feel mental pain and suffering. Very fascinating how brains work. Perhaps I shall become a neurologist, that'd be kind of cool.

But yesterday, I had somewhat of a disagreement with this girl who has a teacher who has cancer. And cancer is one of those "diseases" that man created. Now, I was basically saying how in order to beat it, you got to read it. Right? You need to know what makes cancer so you can avoid it so you don't get cancer and cause your family and friends pain and suffering. Have you ever heard of killing a tree by cutting her trunk, drilling a hole, and pouring salt into the hole? Ever? You need to read it to beat it. Very simple. You made it, you can get rid of it.

It's very interesting how humans, and all other living beings are just a bunch of cells. Mind you, humans are just a bunch of organized cells. How did it come to be that we have feelings? If we didn't EVOLVE (as in "evolution", change over time? I can't believe billions of people don't believe in it. Ridiculous.) to have feelings, would we not have created society? Government? Everything that civilized countries have?

I would love to travel to places where people actually work for their food, work to get water, work to create shelter. But I have to work now.

Can you see my eyes are shining bright?

Today I had a calculus exam, and either I did really well (I was the first one to finish) or I failed. Haha. I studied for a long time and did lots of homework (still have tons of problems I don't understand) but the math tutor that helped me yesterday (some asian kid) was like "Uhm, I was actually off at 3" and I look at the clock and it's 3:20. Oops! Haha.

After I left math class, I walked into the dean!!! Wahahaha. I saw him from a distance first, and I was like "Oh! That looks like the dean. But a little chubbier and a little older" but it turned out to be him.  Oops. But he smiled at me, I think it's because he recognizes me from biology and maybe because my biology teacher talked to him but who cares! The dean smiled at me, yay. That means I'm special and I'll have an easier time writing him more animal-issue-related letters.

I have tons to write about, and it's all on a list so I'm going to stay after school in the MLC tomorrow to post a super long post! I'm very excited. But I honestly have no idea how many people read my posts! I guess I don't care but it'd be nice to know if people are actually reading it. So I guess if you do read them, please tell me?

I am at work now, in the library and you know what's a humongous pain in the butt? Shelving kids books. It doesn't take very long but the second I walk into the section, its covered with all sorts of junk. Books, papers, pencils, stuffed animals, baskets, clothes, ugh. I think lots of parents don't deserve to be parents. People don't teach their kids anything these days. Like how throwing books around is NOT okay. And how you shouldn't eat the public stuffed teddy bear. You don't have to reshelve the books, but come on. You can at least put them on the table. People these days. Ugh.

I also painted some trees for a summer reading program and the children's library, Chrissy, tried to find vegan paint at Michael's, which is super nice and I thank her for that! She went up to the Alderwood store and some girl was helping her and the girl was like "No one has ever asked me that. Why do you need to know if it's vegan? I know there is egg tempura paint, but everything else doesn't have eggs." And Chrissy explained how some people don't use animal products and the girl was like "Well, the paint is non-toxic", so OBVIOUSLY she had no idea what the fuck a vegan is and no idea about what makes something vegan. But I don't care that she doesn't know (because TONS of people don't know, it's TRAGIC and ignorant) but she started making up stuff about egg tempura paint! Ridiculous. So I am going to write them a letter. Or call the manager. Or talk to them in person. Because lying is wrong. And everyone should know what kind of products are vegan.

It's so tragic how little people know about how much animals suffer. So I really want to start an animal awareness club. Not to tell people to go vegan or whatever, but just to show people and tell people what really goes on. Because lots of horrible things go on behind closed doors. I heard about a slaughterhouse that believes they slaughter and process their animals so humanely and cleanly that all their walls are made of glass. Now that's my kind of people. I think it's in Michigan or Pennsylvania or Iowa or somewhere around that region. So I'm going there someday and maybe someday I'd work for them, who knows.  I love honest and kind people.

Also today! Wednesdays are biology lab days and today we worked on the second part of our DNA lab. We performed electropheresis with agar gel. It was REALLY cool. I think my teacher thinks I'm cool, because he gave me 10 points out of 10 points for all my labs so far even though I can't do some parts of it! That's awesome! Because I really need as many points as I can get, haha. I think my second test went well, but I'm not sure.

My plants are growing beautifully! So slow though! I want to learn how to make a pond/marsh/small-wetland-area. That'd be sooo cool. And grow tons and tons of fruits and veggies in my backyard. Like foot-by-foot gardening except cooler! More to come tomorrow!

  • Furious!

I am furious because one of my entries have a darn box around it and the other one doesn't, and it's HIDEOUS. How do I fix it?

  • It's been awhile...

since I last posted. I remember putting up a picture of a tiny little sprout! Now a lot of sprouts are all over the place! It's really exciting. There are probably too many, haha. I'll have to transplant them if they get bigger.

So anyways, I had a biology exam today (#2) and I always look at the extra credit first to decide how hard I want to concentrate on the rest of the test, :D, and the extra credit said "You can use your books for all answers" and I yelped. Haha. I laugh and yelp really loud and everyone looked at me but didn't understand what I read. It was great. I did the first multiple choice question (each multiple choice is worth 3 pts, true or false is 1, and fill in the blank is 1) but when I read the second one, I was like "What?! We didn't talk about that," haha. But I did it. It was...much better than last time I think. Last time I got 81% with extra credit. Bleh.

And in environmental science, we worked in groups to answer questions about invasive species and endangered species protection, things like that. My friend came up to me at the end of the class and asked if I was going to MORA (Mt. Rainier) soon. And I told him that I would probably next year, because I have to take summer classes. Well, I don't have to, I just want to. :D And he's like "What are you taking?" And I said "I'm starting engineering physics and finishing chemistry" and my teacher overheard and he's like "Jeez, what do you want to do?" and I said "Lots", haha. And then my teacher was like "Man, you're just like me. I took quantum mechanics in college!" I already did quantum mechanics in Chem&161 (or Chem 1), and it was trecherous. It was horrible. Horrendous. I hated it. It was so confusing and hard to remember, more so than cellular respiration, ew.

In calculus, man...we're starting 9.3, something like "Improper indefinite integrals" or something. And uh...not so good. Sometimes when he writes on the board, I at least see the "e" and "k/t" or "dy/dx" but today, it was just a bunch of squiggly lines in a bigger line. But it could also be that my heart isn't feeling mathy lately. :D

I have 15 minutes before my mom is supposed to get here, to school (NSCC), so that we can go to the job fair. I hate feeling rushed.

Dang, she just called and I gots to go now. But hopefully I'll think of something to say tonight! Until next time! By the way, I'm listening to MCR "Famous Last Words", BEAUTIFUL song! <3

  • All about what really goes on in my head!

I have decided that it's time to get a new xanga account and actually write in it. So, I will try to post every couple days, or whenever I find something really interesting to share. Today I wanted to share a picture of my little garden!  Never mind. It's not a picture of the garden. It's a picture of a couple greens that've sprouted! I planted 4 kinds of seeds (salad mix, pole beans, spinach, and something else [I guess it'll be a surprise!]) last Friday in my Easter dress! The garden is about 10 feet by 3 1/2 feet, and yesterday was the first time I saw some leaves pop up. So here's a picture!

About Me

  • I'm a raw organic vegan (which means I eat raw foods when I can, eat organic when I can, and ALWAYS vegan)! I'm madly in love with all living creatures, especially my boyfriend! I love pitbulls and music, chickens and ducks, vine maples and my U2 iPod, Fuji apples and Goodwill, biology and chemistry but not biochemistry, orcas and seals but not SeaWorld, bean plants and DJ headphones, and so much more...
